Frequently Asked Questions

Which languages are supported?
22 languages are supported across two categories. Indian languages: English, Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia, and Urdu. Global languages: Spanish, French, German, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, and Italian.
Can it read blurry or low-quality images?
Yes. Our built-in AI Image Enhancement pipeline automatically upscales small images, converts to grayscale, boosts contrast, and applies a sharpening filter before sending the image to the OCR engine. This significantly improves accuracy on blurry, low-resolution, or poorly lit photos compared to standard OCR tools.
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. Everything happens inside your browser using Tesseract.js, a WebAssembly-based AI library. Your images never leave your device. This makes the tool completely private and safe for sensitive documents.
Is there a file size limit?
Since there is no server upload, we do not impose strict limits. Images above 15MB may take a few extra seconds depending on your device's processing speed. For best results, use images under 10MB.
What image formats are supported?
All common formats are supported: JPG, JPEG, PNG, WEBP, BMP, and GIF. For best accuracy, use high-resolution images with clear, dark text on a light background. If your image quality is poor, our AI enhancement will still try to improve it automatically.

Extract Text from Any Image — 22 Languages Supported

Have you ever photographed a textbook page, a business receipt, or a Hindi newspaper and needed the text in digital form? Our free Image to Text Converter uses advanced browser-based OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to convert any image into editable text — instantly and privately. Whether it is a hand-written note or a digital screenshot, our AI gets the job done.

AI Image Enhancement for Blurry Images

Unlike most OCR tools that simply send your image to a cloud server, our tool runs a dedicated image preprocessing pipeline before OCR. Every image is automatically upscaled to at least 2400px resolution, converted to grayscale for cleaner contrast, boosted with a contrast enhancement algorithm, and sharpened using a convolution kernel — all inside your browser before the text is scanned. This makes our tool significantly more accurate on blurry, dim, or low-resolution photos.

Indian Language OCR — All 12 Major Languages

India has 22 officially recognized languages. Our tool supports 12 of the most widely written ones: Hindi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Punjabi, Odia, and Urdu — in addition to English. Whether you need to digitize a government document in Hindi, a Tamil newspaper article, or a Gujarati invoice, this tool handles it all effortlessly and maintains the original script layout.

Privacy First — Zero Cloud Uploads

Most online OCR services upload your files to their servers. This poses a serious privacy risk for sensitive documents like tax forms, bank statements, legal notices, and medical reports. Our tool uses Tesseract.js, which runs the complete AI engine directly inside your browser. Your images never leave your device, and no data is ever stored or transmitted over the internet.

Best Practices for Accurate Results

To get the best possible extraction quality, use images that are well-lit with dark text on a light background. Avoid extreme camera angles or heavy shadows. While our AI enhancement helps significantly with blurry images, extremely low-resolution photos (below 100×100 pixels) may still produce limited results. For scanned documents, a minimum of 150 DPI is recommended for reliable character recognition.
